Government releases the report “A Change in Emphasis for the Department of Public Health” as a response to the introduction of MSI and the acknowledgement that many Nova Scotians now receive the basic health care, and especially maternal/child care formerly provided by the Department from their family doctors. The report recommends better coordination and rationalization of health care delivery. It also recommends that the term “Public Health Nurse” be eschewed in favour of the term “Community Health Nurse” [PANS, Acc. 2013-017, File 1324].
