Limited provincial funding is approved for the cost of the B.C. Measles Vaccination Program; initial plan is to secure approximately 55 000 doses of the single-dose attenuated live virus “Lirugen” vaccine [131-F-5-F3a 030]; a June 1969 meeting of the B.C. Health Officers’ Sub-Committee on Communicable Disease also includes a discussion of rubella (or “German” measles) and rubella vaccine [131-F-5-F3a 030], which has been licensed for use in the United States; a motion is passed to recommend that “gamma globulin [131-F-5-F3a 030] be no longer used for the ‘prevention’ of rubella”
