Medical Journal publishes a “Public Health and Mental News” report discussing the risk of congenital birth defects in children born to women who develop rubella (“German” measles) during the first free months of pregnancy; report recommends the use of Gamma Globulin in “cases where there is any doubt about the mother’s susceptibility would appear well justified,” until “a better method of prophylaxis is available” [“Rubella and Pregnancy,” B.C.
