After both an an inactivated and a live attenuated measles vaccine are licensed for use in the United States, the Health Branch of the Province of B.C. announces that it “does not plan to purchase and distribute measles vaccine free of charge” until more is known about the effectiveness of the new vaccines; however, it is “recommended that measles vaccine be given to those susceptible children over nine months of age who are considered likely to develop serious complications from natural measles” [“Measles Vaccine,” B.C.
